WELCOME to FRETWEB englishteaching.co.uk, one of the UK's premiere online resources for Teachers of English.

englishteaching.co.uk provides and publishes printable and editable teaching resources, worksheets, lesson plans and schemes of work for teachers of English Language, English Literature, Media and Drama @ secondary level. More info.

All materials are developed and produced by practising subject specialists and, as an online resource, englishteaching.co.uk's collection of teaching resources and materials is ever-expanding.

At Key Stage 3, englishteaching.co.uk is organised according to the UK National Curriculum Orders for English covering reading, (poetry, prose, drama, media, non-fiction) writing and speaking / listening in the relevant key stages.

At Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A Level) our English Language and English Literature teaching resources cover coursework, examination and revision tasks and work packs on a wide range of examination set texts, authors, playwrights and poets. We publish teaching resources for use with the following examination boards: WJEC, AQA, Edexcel and OCR.

THE DRAMA ROOM

Thanks to our talented and generous (Drama) teacher authors and contributors, we also have a growing bank of drama teaching resources in The Drama Room.

PDF, WORD & POWERPOINT TEACHING RESOURCES

Our English Teaching resources are available as photocopy and print masters and are stored in PDF format. In response to your requests, we also supply WORD versions of resources. So, as a user of englishteaching.co.uk you have access to thousands of completely editable teaching resources, worksheets, lesson plans and schemes of work. With all word and / or powerpoint resources you can:

  • amend, revise and add to resources - change font, graphics and colour schemes, etc;

  • adapt and differentiate teaching resources - specifically target SEN and GAT pupils;

  • integrate resources more effectively in line with departmental schemes of work;

  • get whizzy - adapt resources to create interactive whiteboard and / or PC-based resources and tasks.
